Those are installed prices, not slab prices. A quote that sounds dramatically lower is usually a material-only number with fabrication, cutouts, delivery, installation and tear-out still to be added.

How Many Slabs Will Your Kitchen Need?

This catches people out more than any other line in a quote. A quartz slab is commonly around 120″ × 55″, or roughly 45 square feet usable once you account for cutting around the sink, seams and unusable edges.

Under about 40 usable square feet: often one slab
40–85 square feet: usually two
Large kitchens, waterfall ends or full-height backsplash: three or more

So a kitchen at 42 square feet can cost noticeably more than one at 38, because it crosses into a second slab. We tell you this at the measurement, not after — and where it’s close, we’ll show you whether a small layout change keeps you in one slab.

What Should Be in a Countertop Quote

Compare estimates line by line, because “per square foot” means different things at different shops. A complete quote includes:

Material and the specific quartz line and color
Templating at your home
Fabrication
Edge profile
Sink and cooktop cutouts
Seams and seam treatment
Delivery
Installation
Tear-out of the existing countertop
Disposal
Any backsplash work

The honest rule: if one quote is far below the others, ask which of those lines it excludes. Tear-out, disposal and cutouts are the usual answers.

What a distributor doesn’t do is fabricate or install. That’s where we come in: we buy the slab, template your kitchen, cut and finish it at our own Crestwood facility, and install it with our own crew. You get the selection of a national supply chain with a local shop accountable for the result.
