Premium Quartz & Marble Kitchen Countertops and Islands

We fabricate and install premium stone countertops. We cut your island, perimeter tops, and backsplash to your exact cabinet layout, add the sink, cooktop, and faucet cutouts, and install everything level with tight, vein matched seams. Choose from Calacatta, marble, quartz, and granite countertops to suit how you cook and the look you are after.

A large island often spans more than one slab, so seam placement and vein matching decide whether the finished kitchen looks custom or pieced together. Perimeter runs have to clear the range and sink cleanly, and the whole surface takes daily heat, knives, and spills. We template your actual space rather than working from plans, so the tops fit the room as built.

Marble and quartz give you the bright, veined look, quartz with no sealing and marble as genuine natural stone. Granite and quartzite stand up to the heaviest use, ideal for busy family kitchens and open-plan islands that double as prep space and gathering spot.

Whether you are refreshing your home or building new construction, our Crestwood shop fabricates and installs the whole job. Call (708) 362-7674 for a free measurement and a written estimate for your countertop project.

Granite vs Calacatta Quartz vs Quartzite vs Marble

The four surfaces we fabricate most behave very differently once they are in a working kitchen. How much you cook, how much upkeep you actually want, and how large the island is should all push the decision.

Countertop Fabrication Process

Upgrade Your  Countertops Today

Al Jory Marble fabricates and installs custom kitchen countertops across Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. From a single island to a full kitchen remodel, we handle the whole job in house: templating your space, cutting the slab in our Crestwood shop, and installing it with tight, vein matched seams.

A kitchen asks more of a countertop than any other room. It takes daily heat, knives, and spills, and a large island often spans more than one slab, so seam placement and vein matching are what make the finished kitchen look custom. We fabricate in marble, quartz, granite, and quartzite, so you can match the surface to how you cook, and we template your kitchen as it is actually built for a level, tight fit.

We serve Chicago, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Naperville, Schaumburg, Joliet, Aurora, and the surrounding suburbs from our showroom and slab yard in Crestwood. Come see full slabs in person, or we bring samples and measure at your home.

Free measurement, free written estimate, no obligation. Call (708) 362-7674 to get started.

Kitchen Countertop Questions

How much do kitchen countertops cost in Chicagoland?

Cost comes down to four things: the stone you pick, the square footage, the edge profile, and how many cutouts the job needs. Granite and quartz generally land in a similar range, with quartzite and marble above them. After we measure, you get a written estimate with material and labor listed separately so nothing is buried. Call us at (708) 362-7674 with your rough dimensions and we can give you a range over the phone.

Which countertop material is best for a busy kitchen?

If you want the least upkeep, quartz. It is nonporous, never needs sealing, and nothing soaks in. If you cook heavily and set hot pans down without thinking, granite or quartzite handle heat better than quartz does. If you want the marble look but the kitchen sees real daily use, quartzite is usually the answer. Marble is the most beautiful and the most demanding of the four.

Do I have to replace my cabinets to get new countertops?

No. If your cabinets are solid and level, new tops alone change the entire room at a fraction of the cost of a full remodel. A large share of the work we do is exactly that, particularly in older suburban homes where the cabinetry is still in good shape and only the countertops are dated.

How long does the whole process take?

Templating takes about an hour and happens once your cabinets are installed and level. Fabrication typically runs about a week depending on the material and what else is in the shop. Installation on a standard kitchen is a single day, including removal of the old tops.

Will you come out and measure my kitchen?

Yes, at no charge. We come to your home or office, measure, talk through edge profiles and sink cutouts, and leave you with a written estimate in the same visit. If you have not been out to the showroom yet, we can bring samples with us.

Can I pick out my own slab?

Yes, and we recommend it for natural stone. A two inch sample cannot show you how veining moves across a full slab, and in granite and quartzite two pieces of the same named stone can look like different materials. Visit our showroom and slab yard at 4711 135th St in Crestwood and someone will walk the yard with you.

Will my countertops have a seam, and will I see it?

It depends on the size of your kitchen, since slabs come in finite sizes. Any run longer than a slab needs a seam. We plan seam placement during layout so it falls where it is least visible and structurally supported, usually at an inside corner, beside a cutout, or out of the main sight line. A well made seam is tight, level, and color matched to your stone. You can find it if you go looking, but it should not draw attention.

What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?

They sound similar and behave differently. Quartz is engineered from ground stone and resin, which gives it consistent color and means it never needs sealing. Quartzite is quarried natural stone, harder than granite, with unique veining in every slab. Quartz is the lower maintenance option. Quartzite is the more durable natural stone. Worth seeing both in person before you decide.

Do you fabricate the countertops yourselves?

Yes. Everything is cut, edged, and polished in our own shop in Crestwood, and our own crew installs it. Nothing is subcontracted, which means the person who measured your kitchen is the same person who knows what happened at the saw, and there is one company to call if anything needs attention afterward.

Do you take out and dispose of the old countertops?

Yes. Removal and disposal are part of the job on most residential installations. We protect the floors, contain the dust, and the debris leaves with us.

How do I care for stone countertops?

Warm water and mild dish soap handle almost everything. Use a pH neutral cleaner rather than anything acidic or abrasive. Granite and quartzite benefit from resealing roughly once a year, and you can test it by dripping water near the sink to see whether it beads or darkens. Quartz never needs sealing but does need a trivet, since the resin in it does not like sustained heat. Wipe up oil, wine, and citrus rather than letting them sit.

What areas do you serve?

We work out of Crestwood and install throughout Chicago and the suburbs, including Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Oak Forest, Alsip, Palos Heights, Naperville, Downers Grove, Bolingbrook, Joliet, Aurora, and Schaumburg. If your town is not listed, call us and ask.
